Duplin County Lawyer

    Stratton Stokes is a native of Duplin County who was raised near Wallace. After graduating Wallace-Rose Hill High School, Stratton attended seminary in Greenville, SC. In 2004 he completed his B.A. in Religion at Campbell University's Divinity School, concentrating in Religion and Christian Ministries.

 

     After graduating, Stratton felt a deep desire to help those less fortunate. With that conviction he began a career in law enforcement with Duplin County Sheriff’s Office. While there he worked as a jailer, patrol deputy, field training officer, patrol sergeant, and was a member of the Special Response Team. 

     

     After 8 years with the Sheriff’s Office Stratton decided to pursue a career as a Special Agent with North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Upon graduating from the NCSBI 40th Special Agent Academy he was assigned as a Criminal Agent in the Coastal District. In addition to his duties as Criminal Agent he also received extensive training in narcotics and crime scene investigation. He a-

lso worked with NC State Highway Patrol, NC National Guard, and US DEA as the Marijuana Eradication Coordinator for the Coastal District. In 2013 he was honored the Sharon Alston Agent of the Year Award. Stratton received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate in 2012 and continues to serve as a reserve deputy. 

 

     In 2017 Stratton earned the degree of Juris Doctor from Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. After graduation, Stratton decided to go into private practice and continue to serve the citizens of Eastern North Carolina.
